History

The Youth Theatre Company inspires young people to create imaginative and exciting theatrical performances and develop a life-long love of the arts.  We are supported by a community of youth and parents dedicated to theatre arts education.

Junior Theatre has been a part of Civic Arts Education for more than twenty-five years.  In its history we have won awards at the Broadway Junior Festival in Atlanta, Georgia twice and the Musical Theatre Competitions of America in Fullerton, California.

In 2006, we added Teen Theatre for those student who have graduated out of Jr. Theatre but still wanted to expand the performance skills.  Later that year, the Youth Theatre Company was created to establish a stepping stone program for children who want to grow as performers.

“From being in Jr. Theatre, I’ve learned better teamwork and responsibility because it’s important to know that theatre isn’t all about one person.
